Our caregivers are educated in energy conservation techniques (often called the "5 Ps": Planning, Pacing, Prioritizing, Positioning, and Pursed-Lip Breathing). We help minimize physical strain by assisting with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and laundry, allowing you to move through your day without overexertion. For pulmonary clients, we provide a safe environment by monitoring oxygen tubing to prevent trips, ensuring a smoke-free and scent-free home, and offering gentle reminders for breathing exercises that help maintain lung function.
Fall Prevention Assistance & Rehabilitation Support
Post-cardiac and pulmonary patients often experience dizziness, shortness of breath, or side effects from new medications, all of which increase the risk of a fall. We provide dedicated fall prevention assistance, offering steady support during transitions and walking to ensure you feel secure as you rebuild your stamina. To further your progress, our caregivers are trained to assist with Home Exercise Programs (HEPs) prescribed by your cardiologist, pulmonologist, or physical therapist. We provide the encouragement and oversight needed for daily walks, range-of-motion movements, and prescribed exercises, ensuring you stay consistent with the rehabilitation plan that will ultimately lead to your independence.
