Compassionate Cancer Support: Care for Every Stage of Recovery
Whether your loved one is currently undergoing chemotherapy, recovering from surgery, or navigating the post-treatment journey, the physical and emotional toll of cancer can be overwhelming. At CareWell Homecare, we provide specialized support designed to manage the side effects of treatment and promote a comfortable recovery at home. Our caregivers assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)—including gentle help with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene—while respecting post-surgical restrictions or treatment-related sensitivities like neuropathy or skin changes. We act as an extra layer of support so the client can focus entirely on healing. To ensure the best possible care, the specific level of assistance for each task is determined during our initial assessment and tailored to the individual's current treatment plan.
Safety, Ambulation, and Fall Prevention Assistance
Cancer treatments can often lead to side effects like extreme fatigue, dizziness, or peripheral neuropathy (numbness in hands and feet), all of which increase the risk of a fall. Our caregivers provide dedicated fall prevention assistance, offering steady stand-by support during walking and transitions to ensure safety when energy levels are low. We specialize in safe ambulation, helping clients move confidently through their homes, whether they are managing surgical drains, using a mobility aid, or simply feeling weakened by recent treatment. By staying vigilant and proactive, we help maintain a secure environment that prevents setbacks and promotes steady progress.
Rehabilitation & Home Exercise Support
Maintaining strength and mobility is a vital part of the cancer recovery process. Our caregivers are trained to support the Home Exercise Programs (HEPs) prescribed by your physical therapists or oncology team. We provide the encouragement and physical oversight needed to complete daily range-of-motion stretches, light strengthening exercises, or balance routines. Whether it's a supervised walk to combat "chemo-fatigue" or assistance with prescribed movements to regain flexibility after surgery, we ensure that rehabilitation remains a consistent and safe part of the daily routine. Our in-house Doctor of Physical Therapy is always available to ensure caregiver familiarity with our clients' home exercise and physical activity routines.
