A Day In The Life: The 8-Hour CareWell Experience

A full-day support shift (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM)

8:30 AM | The Morning Transition

The caregiver arrives as the day begins. This is a high-risk period for falls as seniors move from bed to activity.

  • The Safety Sweep: Check for nighttime spills, clutter, or misplaced slippers.
  • Vitals And Wellness: A quick how did you sleep check for stiffness, dizziness, or confusion.
  • The Goal: A safe and steady start to the day.
9:30 AM | Breakfast And Brain Power
  • Nutrition: Prepare a protein-rich breakfast such as oatmeal, eggs, or avocado toast.
  • Hydration: Start the day with the first full glass of water, especially important for seniors.
  • The Goal: Stabilize energy and support cognition.
10:30 AM | Personal Care And The DPT Walk
  • Hygiene: Safe shower or sponge bath with privacy and dignity.
  • Mobility: Follow movement guidance designed by our DPT leadership with light walking or chair-based functional movement.
  • The Goal: Maintain independence through movement.
12:00 PM | The Social Lunch
  • Meal Prep: Fresh lunch tailored to dietary goals.
  • Medication: Midday reminders are completed and logged.
  • The Goal: Turn mealtime into a social moment that supports appetite and mood.
1:30 PM | Active Mind Hour

The early afternoon is when many seniors feel isolated or fatigued.

  • Engagement: Crosswords, card games, hobbies, memory prompts, or a technology check to connect with family.
  • The Goal: Keep the brain active and reduce loneliness.
2:30 PM | Light Housekeeping And Home Harmony

While the client rests, the caregiver supports the environment.

  • Tidying: Laundry, bed linen refresh, and sanitizing high-touch surfaces.
  • Organization: Clear walkways and optimize the safety path through the home.
  • The Goal: Remove chore burden and keep the home safe.
3:30 PM | Afternoon Snack And Hydration Check
  • Energy Boost: A light snack and additional hydration.
  • Prep For Evening: Set out pajamas and prepare nighttime pathways.
  • The Goal: Keep energy stable and reduce evening risks.
4:15 PM | The CareWell Daily Journal And Handover

Before leaving, the caregiver documents the day clearly.

  • The Log: Intake, output, mood observations, and any care notes.
  • The Handover: A short briefing for family members arriving home.
  • The Goal: Total peace of mind. Families walk into a calm home, not a to-do list.
